Europe Visa & Documentation: What to Prepare

Most travellers from Bangladesh and South Asia need a Schengen visa for mainland Europe and a separate visa for the UK. A typical application includes a passport, photos, bank statements, proof of employment or business, a day-by-day itinerary, hotel and flight reservations and travel insurance. The embassy or consulate decides every application.
Do I need a Schengen visa and a UK visa?
Yes, if you visit both. The UK is not part of the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa does not cover the UK and a UK visa does not cover Schengen countries.
Which country do I apply to for a Schengen visa?
Usually the country where you spend the most nights. If nights are equal, usually the country you enter first. Your itinerary therefore matters for your application.
What documents are commonly requested?
Passport and previous passports, photographs, the application form, bank statements, employment or business documents, tax documents, a travel itinerary, hotel and flight reservations and travel medical insurance.
Requirements differ by embassy and change over time, so always check the current official checklist before you apply.
Can an agency guarantee a visa?
No. Be cautious of anyone who promises approval. A good agency helps you prepare a complete, consistent file — nothing more, and nothing less.
