Switzerland is best experienced by train, based in two or three locations such as Lucerne, Interlaken and Zurich. It is one of Europe's most expensive countries, so plan which mountain excursions matter most to you.
Where should I stay?
Lucerne for the lake and Mount Pilatus or Titlis, Interlaken for the Jungfrau region, and Zurich or Geneva for arrival and departure.
Which mountain trips are worth it?
Jungfraujoch is the most famous, Titlis offers snow year-round, and Pilatus is easy from Lucerne. Weather affects views, so keep a flexible day.
Do I need a Schengen visa?
Yes. Switzerland is in the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa is required for most South Asian passport holders.
